To undertake an appraisal assignment in the State of Tennessee, a non-resident appraiser must file an application for a Temporary Practice Permit with the Tennessee Real Estate Appraisers Commission.
An individual who is performing an appraisal on one assignment, for one client, in Tennessee may apply for a temporary practice permit. Multiple properties can be considered as one assignment if the assignment is for the same client and reports are for the same intended use and same time period. There is a maximum of six (6) temporary permits issued to an individual each calendar year. Permits must be approved before an appraiser may perform appraisal practice in Tennessee. Fees
Temporary Practice Permit Fee: $150
This fee is per single assignment which may cover multiple locations.
Additional
A separate application is required for each licensed/certified appraiser signing the report.
Temporary permits are vaild for 6 months after the original expiration date of the permit. Any new assignment will require a separate application.
There is a maximum of six temporary assignment permits per calendar year.
